See what’s happening.
Do something about it.
FROM SEEING TO DOING
Seeing it is useful.
Changing it is better.
Most of what's absorbing your organisation's effort can be found with a pen and some honesty. Some of these tools are simple enough to sketch on a napkin over coffee, like the people in the photo. Others go deep enough to put in front of a board.
All of them start small, and they only get bigger when the problem genuinely needs it.
WHERE DO YOU SIT?
What you can change depends on where you sit.
Every tool here draws on the same named patterns and laws, the ones that quietly slow capable organisations down. What changes is where you sit, and how much of the organisation you can change from there.
I WORK INSIDE IT | C-SUITE | SENIOR & MID-LEVEL LEADERS
You're expected to make things happen inside conditions you didn't set, but you probably have more room to move than it feels like.
Safe Passage → Relief this week. Deliver what matters most inside the organisation as it is, and build the case upwards for lasting change. Founding places open now.
I LEAD THE ORGANISATION | CEO | Founder
You can change the conditions everyone else works within.
The hard part is knowing which ones are absorbing the most effort.
Dead Reckoning → A diagnostic of where the organisation really is, where its current course leads, and what top-down changes are needed. Opens next.
I INVEST IN OR GOVERN IT | NED | INVESTORS
By the time information reaches you, it has travelled a long way. You need to know what's actually happening without living inside it.
Long View → A signed agreement between investors, board and CEO on what this period is for and what results to expect from it, so the top table is judging the organisation by the same standard. In development.
How they work together At the top, Dead Reckoning shows the real picture and The Long View gets the CEO, board and investors agreed on what to do about it. Further down, Safe Passage helps leaders deliver while those conditions improve. When the people setting the conditions and the people working inside them use the same language for the same problems, the improvements stick.
Each tool works on its own, so start with the one that fits your seat. Used together, they tackle the same patterns from the top table and the front line at once, and that's when change moves fastest.
This is the starting set, and more tools will join it as the work grows.
SAFE PASSAGE
For people leading inside organisations
Safe Passage
You don’t need to change the whole organisation to change what happens next.
Most of the firefighting in your week started somewhere else. You inherit priorities nobody ranked, deadlines set before anyone checked capacity, teams that need each other but were never set up to work together, and decisions stalled two levels above you. When it slips, everyone looks at you.
Safe Passage is the toolkit for delivering anyway, inside the organisation as it actually is, and for influencing upwards so next quarter looks different. Each tool is simple enough to draw on a napkin and explain to your team the same afternoon. They need no permission and no programme to roll out, so you can pick one up today and start making your week run more smoothly.
Bring the problem you're facing this week and Safe Passage points you to the tool that fits, then walks you through using it.
Built for the problems that turn up almost everywhere:
"There's more work than capacity, and all of it is a priority."
"Everything keeps coming back to me."
"Every team needs the same people at the same time."
"We keep getting blindsided by things someone knew about weeks ago."
A LOOK INSIDE
100 Figs is one of the Safe Passage tools
For when the work you’ve been asked to deliver no longer fits into the capacity you actually have.
Take 100 squares. That's your capacity. Fill them with everything competing for it, and most people find they're trying to fit 130+ figs into a 100-fig box. You can't prioritise 130 things into 100 spaces, so something has to give.
Almost everyone who tries this on their own undercounts. They list the projects and forget the weekly report, the standing meetings, the favours for another team and the "quick question" that ate Thursday afternoon.
Safe Passage asks the questions that bring out the work nobody thought to count. With the full picture in front of you, priority calls get easier to have. When the next request lands, you can show exactly what it would push out before anyone agrees to it, so the decision gets made openly by the person who should make it. The easy yes in the corridor no longer turns into the difficult "we can't deliver that after all" conversation three months later, when the promise has already reached the people above you.
RESERVE A SAFE PASSAGE FOUNDING PLACE
Bring the problem. Find your next move.
An AI-guided toolkit for mid and senior leaders who spend too much of their week firefighting.
You’ll remove the blockers that slow you down and make delivery harder than it needs to be:
Your people will make more decisions on their own, inside limits you've agreed together, so less lands back on your desk.
You’ll create alignment across teams and functions so fewer things drop during handoffs or are held up by conflicts.
Priority calls get made by the people who should make them, with the trade-offs in plain view.
Demand for scarce people and budget is handled openly, so the loudest requests and pet projects stop winning by default.
Bad surprises show up earlier and smaller, while there's still time to act.
You can influence upwards and create improvements that last.
More of your week is available to spend on the work that matters most.
COMING NEXT
Change the conditions, and everything below changes with it.
Safe Passage helps leaders work inside the organisation as it is. Dead Reckoning and Long View are for the people at the top, the CEOs, Founders, Investors and NEDs who set the conditions and direction.
Dead Reckoning
A diagnostic of where your organisation really is and where it's heading.
Dead Reckoning is an independent diagnostic, usually commissioned by the CEO or founder, with findings the whole board can act on. I look at how the organisation actually runs today, including its people, its priorities, how decisions get made and the conditions leadership has set. Then I show you:
the gap between what you're aiming for and what the organisation is currently set up to deliver
where the current course lands if nothing changes
which patterns are causing the drift, and where they started
what to change first, whether that's the direction, the conditions or how the organisation is set up
You come away with a clear, evidence-based picture of the organisation while there's still time to change course.
Opens after Safe Passage.
The Long View
A signed agreement between investors, board and CEO on what this period is for.
Boards, investors and CEOs often sign off the same strategy while expecting very different results. The Long View is a facilitated process that gets the CEO, chair and lead investors to agree, explicitly:
which season the organisation is in
what success looks like in this season, and what you're deliberately choosing not to maximise
where you're heading next, and what has to be true before you move
which season each major business or product is in, so the overall portfolio stays balanced
It all goes on one page that the CEO, chair and lead investor sign, and that page becomes exco's brief. From then on, board meetings judge performance against the season you agreed.
